This area on the edge of Southborough Common has been in existence for hundreds of years and following the clean up campaign in November 2006 is now settled and flourishing. It is teaming with wildlife and the fish have certainly grown since the silt was removed.
For those fishermen among you, if you live in Southborough and High Brooms then you are entitled to purchase an annual permit to fish. This permit issued from the 1st of April each year will cost you £22.25 per annum and will entitle you to fish the pond from 16 June to the 14 March inclusive. A closed season operates between these times to give the wildlife and fish a chance to breed. To apply for a permit, please see the rules and regulations and download an application form which will tell you the requirements.
If you live within Southborough and High Brooms or outside of the area, then you may purchase a day permit from the Town Council at a cost of £8.00. You may also download the day permit application form and send it to us in advance of your planned fishing trip.
The area is regularly checked by voluntary bailiffs, so please keep your permit and rod licence with you at all times. If you require any further information contact Jill on 01892 529176 or email firstname.lastname@example.org
All fees quoted are inclusive of VAT at 20%.
